Saturday, January 25 marks the beginning of the 2020 Chinese New Year, the 11-day lunar new year celebration commonly referred to as the Spring Festival in mainland China (Wikipedia.org). This year's Chinese zodiac symbol is the rat, a traditional representation of wealth and surplus.

ChineseNewYear.net has lots of information on the Chinese New Year celebration, including Chinese New Year history and traditions, popular food and drink, clothing, myths, decorations, and descriptions of each of the Chinese zodiac symbols. In addition, the site is beautifully designed and very user friendly.

Wishing you happiness, luck, success, and prosperity for 2020, the "year of the rat" (and lots of cheese, too, if you're into that kind of thing).
